Wait is over; football world cup has been kicked off in Germany. The destination of 32 teams which are participating for this prestigious FIFA world cup is same. Football fever is high not only in those nations which are playing in Germany rather on this planet. Why not? Football world cup is the biggest sporting event on this globe. Debate is going on everywhere. Can Brazil retain the trophy? Will Rooney be able to participate? How can stop Ronaldianho and Ronaldo? There are uncountable questions in the mind of people; gentlemen’s drawing rooms are buzzing with football.

Football is a unique game; it unites the different cultures, and religions bring all of them on one platform People of all walks of life forget differences and enemity. It is needless to say that football delivers the message of peace, friendship and progress on this globe.

All the answers regarding this world cup will be available with the progress of this mega events and July 9 would be the day of judgement that which will get the crown. During the football world cup jubilations and depressions would be seen among the players and football fans faces.

To play football world cup is a dream for India. The question arises here what went wrong with the Indian football. There was a time when the standard of Indian football was all right. India was allowed to play in the football world cup in 1950. That time Indian players used to play bare footed so they were not allowed to participate in the world cup.

The golden period of Indian football was of 50’s and 60’s. India sailed into the semi finals in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, apart from this India won the first Asian games gold medal. Gradually the standard of Indian football started dipping. At present India’s FIFA ranking is 119.

When the 1X Asian games was held in Delhi that time the Indian football was matched up with South Korea. Today there is a gulf of difference between Indian and South Korean football.

Unfortunately politics and sports go together in India. Priyaranjandas Munshi and KPS Gill are monopolizing the Indian football and hockey for a long period respectively. They never believe in any positive aspects. Like dictators they pass order after order without any concrete planning. In other sports too Gills and Munshis are ruining the Indian sports.

Of late All India Football Federation (AIFF) has appointed an Englishman Houghtan as the coach of the Indian football. The question here is that how long he will work with the Indian football. We believe that foreign coach would not change the Indian football overnight.

At present Indian football is on the last pedestal. One poor performance will give chance to all to raise fingers on the foreign coach. Other thing is how long AIFF officials will allow Houghton to remain with the Indian football. Foreign coaches want full authority but officials like Gill and Munshi want to keep the remote control with them. Gerhard Rach the German hockey coach was appointed for the Indian hockey team just before the Athens Olympics, but he could not continue because first you have to satisfy the ego of Gill then your assignment would be continued

The repair work should be started at the grassroots level then any some thing is possible. Otherwise it is the waste of money to appoint a foreign coach for our senior players. We know they are not capable to do well at the international level.

At the outset India is also very much involved in the football world cup. Most Indians are the die hard supporter of Brazil. Football is treated like religion in Brazil. Without football Brazilians life is half empty. Kolkata has been turned into the Brazilian city. Supporters could be seen in traditional Brazilian yellow jersey.

People have changed their time table. Football world is a gift for the crazy sports lovers. Indian fans could be seen in different players’ jersey. It is amazing that during football world cup Indians forget cricket. Had India participated in the world cup then what would have been the condition of Indian fans. One should not leave hope. We hope one day we will see India in world cup. That would be the most cherished moment for the sport lovers of India.
